Hello everyone! My name is Miranda, I am single mom of an adventurous 4-year-old boy. My son was a complete surprise and a total blessing. I was the person who enjoyed being pregnant. My labor was fairly easy and uneventful. I had thought about surrogacy after having my son. I discussed it with his dad (my now ex) and we decided it was not right for us. In my heart, I still wanted to do it. As a part of the LGBTQ community, I know how difficult it can be to start a family. And I had a strong desire to help a family!
Fast forward to the beginning of 2022. I was scrolling on Facebook and came upon a quiz. I took it and to my surprise I was eligible. Surrogacy Is (A wonderful company of Women who have been surrogates before) contacted me and helped me find an agency that fit me best. They sorted through all of my information and I was given a couple of options for agencies to work with. I was able to ask questions and did my research before deciding. New York Surrogacy Center checked all the boxes for me. Joe has been easy to communicate with. He has even broken things down for me and checked in to give me updates. It took a few weeks to get in all my medical records and test results. I had to wait for my OBGYN appointment which felt like it took months. (It was only a couple of weeks lol)
Overall the application and pre-screening process was super easy. It just takes time to get everything gathered together.
I loved getting the call to say everything was good and my profile was being made. I was so happy! The first step is done. It is so crazy to me how taking that quiz has changed my life. And hopefully another family’s life soon!!
