Becoming a Gestational Carrier with NYSC
When I first decided to become a gestational carrier, I’ll admit, I was nervous. With three children of my own, I wasn’t sure what to expect or how challenging (or easy) the journey would be. Thankfully, I connected with NYSC, and they’ve truly been a guiding force throughout this process. From the start, they’ve been incredibly thorough, providing me with all the information I need to navigate the next steps. After completing my application and receiving the green light to move forward, gathering the necessary information was much simpler than I expected. I easily scheduled appointments with my local doctor
Independent to Agency – My Surrogacy Journey
My journey to surrogacy is a bit different than most. I was in the process of becoming a surrogate for a close friend when some unexpected health complications arose for her, and she decided to put an end to our journey. We had already gone thru getting medical, psychological, and legal clearance and the next step was transfer. I was sad when our journey ended but decided I deeply wanted to help someone grow their family, but I wasn’t sure if I could because of my age (ripe age of 47 here). My lawyer suggested that I reach out to
Pre-Screening
"Surrogacy isn't just about carrying a baby..it's about carrying hopes and dreams for a family." -Unknown The starting process of surrogacy is nice, slow, and easy to understand. After submitting my application and being accepted to start moving forward with the application process, I had a few tests such as pap smear, drug testing, and STD testing done. Once cleared from that point on, my OB signed a clearance form that I am "ideal" to be a surrogate, also to have my documents and health records sent over for review. Any forms that needed to be signed by me to
Pre-Screening with NYSC
I didn’t know how the process worked when applying to become a surrogate. Joe made it easy for me to understand how it would work and that I would need to be patient as it could take some time for paperwork to be reviewed and the application to go through to ensure I fit the criteria to proceed. After submitting my application and getting a thumbs up, we proceeded with the pre-screening; it included getting a drug screening done and a letter of recommendation from my OBGYN, which they made super easy and fast for me. Joe sent me a
Getting Started with NYSC
What a great year we are having! I want to start off by saying that I was extremely nervous to start off becoming a surrogate. I met Joe and his staff when I first submitted my application. They have been so nice to me and helped me get all the documents that were needed and helped me through the checklist. The Zoom call with Joe made me feel at ease and he let me know that the fun part was about to begin with me getting matched with a family. I made the right choice of joining NYSC because they
Getting Started with NYSC
Application process was smoothly and swiftly. Joe and Mackenzie made it simple and easy to follow the checklist. I submitted my application early part of September, I had to get updated pap and bloodwork. My obgyn approved for the continuous process of becoming surrogate. Drug screening was right around the corner, plus background check was super fast. Anytime during the application process I asked question via email, response was received within 24 hours which speaks great volumes. Next up matching with IP so gritty about that process Peace ☮️ out Saquise
The Pre-Screening Process with NYSC
Lemme tell you a lil' somethin about... pre-screening. Initially, I had gone through "Surrogacy Is" for my advocacy and gateway into the world of surrogacy. They set me up with a few options, and ultimately, New York surrogacy Center is the one that I chose. I am forever happy with that decision. Joe and Shanika were there with me every step of the way. Whether it be early in the morning or late at night; I would get an answer to all of my questions. Starting with the application process, I would have to say it could not be more
Pre-Screening to Matching Process
I thought about being a surrogate for a long time. After I had my daughter, I knew this was something I really wanted to do for another family. Before it was legal in NY, I started my surrogacy journey in 2023 with a different agency. It took about 7 months and right before the matching process, I found out I was not eligible to work with the agency because they were out of state. It felt like a complete waste of time, but it was helpful in the long run. I took a few months before looking into surrogacy
The Pre-Screening Process
Surrogacy has intrigued me since the day Phoebe Buffet of Friends carried her brother’s babies. As my son was about to turn 1, I found myself yet again binge-watching Friends and started seriously thinking about surrogacy. As with first birthdays, I was reflective on that first year with my son. I had found so much joy and purpose in motherhood and couldn’t stop thinking about helping another family know that same joy and purpose. At the time, my husband and I talked extensively about what this would look like for our family. I read blogs, listened to podcasts, and talked
Agency Pre-Screening / Application Process
After choosing New York Surrogacy center as the agency I wanted to work with, I was introduced to Joe and the team at NYSC. Joe was great with the intake process and gathered my information while answering any questions I had. Joe educated me on the process, topics to think about, and what to expect going forward. Although I had done my research about surrogacy prior to applying to be a candidate, I was given more information on the process and areas of the process I hadn’t thought about. Topics such as pregnancy reduction/termination, deciding my surrogacy preferences, etc. I always
