Pregnancy: Month 7
7 months and another beautiful day to celebrate the milestones. Our appointments are going well and Belly Bud is growing right on track. I am feeling large and in charge and seriously can't believe we are 2 months away from our due date. It just doesn't seem real. Heartburn has been SEVERE these last few weeks. I'm fine during the day and tend to cut off eating around 6 in hopes that each night will be better. It's so bad that I wake up at random times throughout the night and have to rush to the bathroom as it's causing
Pregnancy: Month 6
6 months with Belly Bud. It's early August and we just left our Fetal Echo appointment. Both IPs joined today and it's always so lovely seeing them both. The Fetal Echocardiogram is a painless ultrasound test that shows the structure of the baby's heart and how well it's working. It's nice to get these scheduled so we can prepare ahead if they detect any abnormalities for pre-delivery planning and medical management once the baby is born. Let me tell you.. It truly is a beautiful feeling to SEE and HEAR a baby's heart fluttering. I had never been in my IM's
Pregnancy: Month 5
5 months and Belly Buddy is as big as a sweet potato and about 8 to 10 inches long. We had a full anatomy ultrasound at 18 weeks. They are quite thorough as they check the development of fetal organs and body parts. They can also detect certain congenital defects. I feel great to report that this little guy is looking and growing great! I thought once I was given the clear at my first OB appointment (after graduating from CNY) to get back to my usual workout routine, I would feel much better. It appears the bigger I am
Pregnancy Month 4
Rolling right into month 4. My belly is growing bigger and bigger and I look much more pregnant and not like I've had one too many tacos for dinner haha. My OB cleared me for regular exercising a few weeks ago which is a HUGE plus for me. I have struggled not feeling like myself these last few months and never realized how much it would affect me coming off of regular routines that had been my lifestyle for YEARS. It's been rough trying to pick back up with working out after the big pause, but I'm hopeful everything, including
First New York Surrogacy Center Baby Arrives
Since my previous birth had been a C-section, my OB highly recommended that this birth be a repeat C-section, which I was fine with. It was scheduled for July 29 at exactly 39 weeks gestation. However, when I went into my final OB appointment on July 25, I was getting slightly elevated blood pressure levels, and we weren’t getting the readings we were looking for on the non-stress test (not enough periods of heartrate acceleration). Nothing was urgent, but my OB decided I should head to the hospital and deliver the next day at the latest! I let the dads
Pregnancy- Month 3
We have officially graduated from our weekly visits with CNY. It's pretty bittersweet to be this far. Once I got to 12 weeks, I was able to stop the daily PIO shots. This could call for an entire celebration alone lol. You get used to the daily shots, but let me tell you... when you are done, YOU are over the moon with joy! We are 13 weeks now and I am seeing my regular OB. My first visit was just to confirm the pregnancy and both parents joined for my 12-week appointment. We thought we would be seeing the
Pregnancy: Month 2
Month 2 took an unexpected turn. We learned at our 7 week ultrasound checkup that there was only one heartbeat. Unfortunately, Baby B didn't make it. As devastated as I was to be going through the emotions of this for the very first time, my heart literally broke for both of the parents. This was a loss that my IPs had become far too accustomed to and not at all what I wanted them to experience during our journey together. In a sense, I felt like I had failed them. It shifted my perspective a great deal and made me
Pregnancy: Month 8
Well month 8 has been interesting to say the least! The intended fathers and I had a “maternity” photoshoot, and when I posted some of those photos on TikTok, it went viral. Then it got picked up on other social media platforms and let’s just say that a lot of people don’t understand what surrogacy is. However, overall, the reception was overwhelmingly positive! With just a couple weeks left before I deliver, baby girl is putting a lot of pressure on my pelvis. Most days I’m fairly uncomfortable, although a support band does help a bit. Sleep can be hard
Pregnancy: Month 7
I am 31 weeks pregnant. OB appointments are now biweekly, just checking BP, weight, fundal height, and heartrate of baby, although at the last appointment we had a growth scan. I facetimed the dads and learned that the baby is weighing in at 4.5lbs already! I am taking that with a grain of salt because weights determined by ultrasound can be inaccurate, but if it is accurate, then we are 1-2 weeks ahead of average. The intended fathers are already placing bets that she needs to come out a week earlier than currently scheduled! We also learned she has quite
Pregnancy: Month 1
It was as early as 5 days post embryo transfer (5dpt) that I started testing at home and received a positive. I took 2 more home tests and they were all positive. The excitement was starting to set ALL the way in and I felt so much better knowing before our scheduled Beta test. I had been told that it was very possible to get positive home pregnancy tests and HCG levels reveal negative. March 21st came around, I went in for my HCG test at 8am and by noon they were calling me with POSITIVE news. My Beta numbers were super
