The Third Trimester
The third trimester was exhausting for me, and was by far much different compared to my own pregnancy, than the other two trimesters. With my daughter, I was a bit tired, but never felt exhausted, and I never felt like I just wanted her out already. However, with surrobaby, I was more than exhausted and pretty uncomfortable, especially during the end. He decided to sit very low for the entire trimester, and I think he had fun kicking my bladder all day and night. Although total opposite from my own, it was still a great feeling to be able to
The Second Trimester
The second trimester was probably the most enjoyable this pregnancy. We waited until around 12-14 week ultrasound scan to find out the gender of the embryo. Mom made the trip to come for that appointment, and when we saw that it was a boy, it really was a special moment. From then, our embryo was able to get a name, and talking about him hit a new and fun level. The nausea was cleared up during this trimester, and we just were able to go through the motions of feeling good and excited for what we were growing. Everyone at
The First Trimester
Our first trimester had some obstacles. Early on, an ultrasound technician told us that the embryo would miscarry, and that really crushed us. It felt like we were waiting around for the inevitable, but as each week past, our embryo kept growing and developing properly each week, and eventually hit a point where we felt confident it would stick around, and it did. After dealing with the odd medical “diagnosis”, the first trimester brought on a lot of nausea. I expected nausea, as I threw up once a night with my own pregnancy during the first trimester until around week
Third Trimester
I am currently halfway through my third trimester, at 33.5 weeks. We’ve had some recent setbacks, as I’ve been diagnosed with gestational diabetes. It’s been pretty frustrating because I am doing everything they instruct, and my sugars are still all over the place. This is very new to me, as I did not have it with my two children. We’re still working on controlling the sugars and the baby and I are monitored very closely now, with weekly appointments. The IPs will be coming up in a couple of weeks to attend another ultrasound in person. We’re all looking forward
Second Trimester
Well, the second trimester is here and my belly popped out SO fast. I had bought some clothes for the “inbetween phase” where I am just a little bigger, but don’t look pregnant yet. I didn’t even get to wear them. I woke up one morning and suddenly had a preggo belly. This is my 3rd pregnancy, so my body just knew what to do, I guess! We text with the IPs a few times a week usually, keeping up on each other’s lives and giving updates with how I’m feeling. I still can’t eat a lot of different foods,
Third Trimester Realities: Preparing for Wombmate’s Arrival
This journey feels increasingly real with growth ultrasounds scheduled every four weeks and diligently following medical recommendations. I’m officially three sizes bigger than my pre-pregnancy weight, which has made shopping at my usual stores a challenge. Thankfully, working remotely means I can comfortably live in oversized t-shirts and lounge wear. LOL We are busy planning for the parents' arrival around the delivery date, discussing essential questions to prepare for Wombmate's "eviction." While I prefer a spontaneous delivery unless medically necessary, the intended parents are fully supportive of my wishes, making this final stage a cooperative and respectful process. At my
Second Trimester Milestones: Embracing the Journey
As we celebrate the good standing of all prenatal tests, we find ourselves both joyful and anxious in anticipation of the 18-week anatomy scan. "Wombmate" is definitely making her preferences known, especially when it comes to certain smells and foods. Despite these aversions, daily 30-minute morning walks remain a cherished routine, thanks to the flexibility and encouragement from my new job. Working remotely has also granted me the luxury of cooking more often, providing healthier options for my growing appetite. Our anatomy scan brought mixed emotions: the joy of seeing our baby girl and the discovery of suspected clubfoot. This
Navigating New Beginnings: A Journey Through the 1st Trimester
As we celebrate the successful implantation of our newly named "Wombmate," each day brings a mix of anticipation and anxiety, especially as we await that first precious ultrasound heartbeat. Medication schedules with precision has become a newfound responsibility, while grounding exercises and meditation have become essential tools in managing stress and nurturing a sense of calmness—a skill I'm learning along this journey toward perfection for our growing family. At around 5 weeks, the gentle onset of nausea signaled the beginning of new transformation. This soon intensified with an abrupt aversion to the taste and smell of bananas by week 6.
Third Trimester
This felt like the longest stage to get through. The heartburn, the weight you’re carrying, the leg cramps and pain, the lower pressure, constantly having to pee, on top of caring for a toddler and working full time. This was a lot, mentally and physically. The amount of milk I drank for the heartburn was insane (1-2 gallons every week and a half), and the growth of the baby happened so quickly. I carried low and somewhat considered “tiny.” I felt big though, and as though I was running out of space in there, and uncomfortable. I gained 40 pounds
Second Trimester!
The beginning of the second trimester was a little rough as I had nausea and headaches for the first few weeks into it. I was throwing up a lot and not feeling the best as normally described by most. I traveled to Florida by plane, and I was so nauseous for every flight, that I learned my lesson and did not travel after that. As I got further into second trimester that all seemed to resolve, and I was able to enjoy some parts of it. I started feeling more movement around 23 weeks. It felt like a normal pregnancy
