Being Matched

The process of getting matched with parents was very exciting! A surrogate profile was created for me, and sent to a set of intended parents who NYSC thought would make a good match. I received a very detailed email about my potential match, and NYSC answered all the follow up questions I had about the match. We all accepted our potential match fairly quickly, and then we had a zoom call scheduled. The call could not have gone smoother, as NYSC was directing the conversations and made sure we all got to know each other a bit. The next day,

Matching with Intended Parents

Waiting for Joe to send me profiles of Intended Parents felt like waiting for Christmas morning when I was a child.  I got that email from Joe that said, “Potential Match” and I could not wait to open the email and look over the profile.  Reading all about this amazing couple made me get even more excited about this potential journey.  I quickly sent Joe an email stating yes, I 100% am open to scheduling a match meeting.  Then we sent our availability, and we were set with a date 2 weeks in the future. The process of waiting to

The Process of Waiting & Being Matched

I've learned over the past few months that this is a true "marathon" and not a sprint. It seemed like every hurdle possible came up but we have overcome it and proudly got matched. Due to my past medical and not making the best health choices it was difficult to find a fertility clinic and once we did it seemed like it was one thing after another. Finally though after all the waiting we finally got the match meet scheduled and once we got talking the nerves settled and everything seemed to go smooth sailing afterwards. It was a conversation

The Transition of Pre-Screening to Matching

This happens after completing the application and screening process. During the screening process Joe will ask you to send a few pictures of yourself that you would like your profile to be associated with, or pictures that describe you as a person.  After choosing your pictures you will also send Joe some little facts about you, things along the lines of what you do for work, how long you and your partner have been in a relationship for (if you have a partner), and what you like to do outside of work or for hobbies. Your profile will be made based

Match at First Sight

This was the most highly anticipated part for me; meeting with a potential match was nerve-wracking. It’s almost like a job application: pick me, pick me! I couldn’t wait to find out who I would be carrying for and hear their story. I am emotional when it comes to hearing why someone might need to take on this path; I feel for them and hope I can bond with them in a way that makes their possible first time as expecting parent(s) amazing. When speaking with the possible match, it was like a “match at first sight.” We enjoyed talking,

Matching Time!

What a joyful day it is! Let me start off by saying I was super nervous to meet the intended parents. I was given their profiles a month ago and almost everyday I read it over and over again. After submitting all of my paperwork the intended parents’ clinic wanted more CBC blood work and also for me to speak to MFM Dr since well I am golden age of 36, that took another week and I got the green light to meet them. First impression is always important. So, I made sure to put on my best blouse and

The Matching Process with NYSC

Lemme tell you a little something about the matching process. Shortly after our initial meeting with the New York Surrogacy Center, we were presented with a potential match. I reassured my husband that we would approach this opportunity with a rational and composed mindset, avoiding any impulsive decisions. We diligently prepared a list of questions to ask during the pre-match meeting. However, when the meeting commenced, it seemed as though our minds went blank. The potential IPs appeared to provide satisfactory responses, and the conversation flowed naturally, creating a sense of comfort and connection. Nevertheless, we decided to take a

Pre-Screening to Matching Process

I thought about being a surrogate for a long time. After I had my daughter, I knew this was something I really wanted to do for another family. Before it was legal in NY, I started my surrogacy journey in 2023 with a different agency. It took about 7 months and right before the matching process, I found out I was not eligible to work with the agency because they were out of state. It felt like a complete waste of time, but it was helpful in the long run.   I took a few months before looking into surrogacy

The Matching Process

Setting up my surrogate profile was rather simple. My only wish was that I did not want to transfer multiple embryos at one time. For the rest, I really wanted the experience to be whatever the Intended Parents were hoping for, so I walked into the matching process open minded. I can’t explain the gasp I gasped with how QUICKLY the NYSC team presented me with a match. It was less than a week after we finalized my profile that I received an email from Joe with the Intended Parents’ profile. I was equally ecstatic and heartbroken to read about

Matching part 2!

So we left where I had to wait a month to get into the cardiologist for a check up because my cholesterol was just above normal at 202. Well I had that appointment just the other day and ... Everything is fine! Just as we expected. After this appointment everything seemed to take off at rocket speed. I guess after waiting over 2 months and moving at a snail's pace anything would seem fast. However the same day I had my cardiologist appointment that office sent the report to my agency, NYSC, which sent it immediately to the fertility clinic of the IP's. This same day the
