Delivery & Post-Birth

Eventually, the big day came, and surrobaby was ready for induction at 40 weeks + 2 days. My own pregnancy went to 42 weeks, so I was very comfortable with the plan to induce, and I was very much ready for him to come out, as he was almost measuring 9lbs and I was extremely sleep deprived. Intended mom came to my house the afternoon that we were to get checked into the hospital. We had dinner together, hung out with her family, who also came up, and then we all made our way to get ready for the birth.

The Delivery & Post-Birth Process

For me, December 10, 2024, will forever be a date filled with magic. The experience was something I’m so grateful for and I will cherish those magical moments for the rest of my life, as we introduced a precious new life into this world. As life goes, we had to contend with a few complications, including gestational diabetes. As a result, the doctors decided we needed to induce labor and December 10 was the date it was to happen. The day we found this out, I spent about an hour on the phone with the intended mother, where we both

The Arrival of Baby M: A Journey of Strength and Joy

On Monday, April 22, 2024, at 38 weeks and 5 days, I started experiencing contractions. Initially 90 minutes apart, they were distinct enough to recognize. Along with contractions, I had bouts of diarrhea and vomiting, prompting me to call my OB for advice. They recommended monitoring my symptoms and advised heading to the hospital if they progressed. By evening, the contractions had intensified, so I headed to the hospital where Amber and the intended mom met me. After being triaged, monitored, and tested, it was determined that I was only 2 cm dilated, and I was advised to return home.

Delivery & Post-Birth!

My OB allowed me to be scheduled to be induced at 39 weeks so that we could appropriately plan for the parents to be here. Labor was pretty intense, but made it to 6cm dilation before I requested an epidural. My husband and the IP’s were in the room the entire time. They started Pitocin at 8:30am and by 12:00pm, baby girl made her arrival. OMG!! It was a beautiful moment!!! It’s something about the end of something that makes you reflect on the entirety of the journey. I was so happy but sad at the same time. I was

Eviction Day

While birth is an entire topic in itself and everyone’s experience is different, I was scheduled for an induction at 39 weeks. The induction went smoothly (prior experience with my own) and I had the baby within 8 hours of being at the hospital. Birth is painful, but the outcome was more than I had imagined filled with beautiful emotions. My husband and the intended parents were in the room during labor, and as we welcomed new life, the three of them were crying full of happiness. It was an amazing experience to feel that is really indescribable. Watching the

Labor & Birth

As the end of the journey became closer we were able to plan more, I was at 4cm and with bad weather happening around me,  IPs the doctor went ahead and scheduled an induction. She did a membrane sweep two days prior to induction. The IPs drove up and got a hotel room for them and for myself and mom (she was my support person). We were all right down the road from the hospital. Induction check in got pushed back an hour and a half. So 6am we arrived at the hospital and got to our room. After all

He’s Here! – Belly Buddy’s Arrival

Belly Buddy is officially here. He’s healthy and oh so perfect! I woke this morning to a not so ripened cervix after the balloon was in for 12 hours. Belly Bud also did a complete turn in my belly overnight and was no longer face down. The Doctors tried an external cephalic procedure which allows them to use their hands to turn the baby. It was very painful, and sadly unsuccessful. We could have waited many more hours to see what my body would do, but the fact it was moving pretty slow at the start and I was in

First New York Surrogacy Center Baby Arrives

Since my previous birth had been a C-section, my OB highly recommended that this birth be a repeat C-section, which I was fine with. It was scheduled for July 29 at exactly 39 weeks gestation. However, when I went into my final OB appointment on July 25, I was getting slightly elevated blood pressure levels, and we weren’t getting the readings we were looking for on the non-stress test (not enough periods of heartrate acceleration). Nothing was urgent, but my OB decided I should head to the hospital and deliver the next day at the latest! I let the dads

Surrogacy Baby Delivery!

At 34 weeks pregnant, I came down with the flu. I went to my PCP, who didn’t think to test for it, then went to urgent care, who didn’t think to test for it, and finally, when I was just so miserable, to the ER, who did test for it (don’t ask me why I didn’t think to ask to be tested, but also don’t blame pregnancy brain, as I don’t believe in that!). I remember calling my IPs to just give them a heads up that I was in the hospital. It wasn’t in our agreement that I had
