The Journey to Medical Clearance

Many of the bumps we experienced were my fault but understanding the extra steps were needed to ensure the best outcome and safety. I feel like medical clearance was a journey itself but having the help NYSC made it easier. We were told by the clinic that it would still be awhile to be cleared medically and they weren't lying. We met with the clinic in January 2024 and became medical/psychological cleared November 2024. In between due to my past pregnancy, I had to be cleared by a high risk maternal doctor, and then a rheumatologist. Once I got cleared

The Process of Waiting & Being Matched

I've learned over the past few months that this is a true "marathon" and not a sprint. It seemed like every hurdle possible came up but we have overcome it and proudly got matched. Due to my past medical and not making the best health choices it was difficult to find a fertility clinic and once we did it seemed like it was one thing after another. Finally though after all the waiting we finally got the match meet scheduled and once we got talking the nerves settled and everything seemed to go smooth sailing afterwards. It was a conversation

Medical and Psychological Clearance for Surrogacy

Lemme tell you a little something about psychological and medical clearance! Undergoing a comprehensive medical evaluation is a crucial step for surrogacy.  Psychological screenings are also essential to ensure emotional preparedness for the journey.  These assessments help protect the well-being of both the surrogate and the intended parents.  This thorough process ensures a healthy and supported experience for everyone involved.  Understanding the medical and psychological aspects of surrogacy is vital for a successful outcome. Becoming a Gestational Carrier with NYSC

When I first decided to become a gestational carrier, I’ll admit, I was nervous. With three children of my own, I wasn’t sure what to expect or how challenging (or easy) the journey would be. Thankfully, I connected with NYSC, and they’ve truly been a guiding force throughout this process. From the start, they’ve been incredibly thorough, providing me with all the information I need to navigate the next steps. After completing my application and receiving the green light to move forward, gathering the necessary information was much simpler than I expected. I easily scheduled appointments with my local doctor

Independent to Agency – My Surrogacy Journey

My journey to surrogacy is a bit different than most.  I was in the process of becoming a surrogate for a close friend when some unexpected health complications arose for her, and she decided to put an end to our journey.  We had already gone thru getting medical, psychological, and legal clearance and the next step was transfer.  I was sad when our journey ended but decided I deeply wanted to help someone grow their family, but I wasn’t sure if I could because of my age (ripe age of 47 here). My lawyer suggested that I reach out to

The Transition of Pre-Screening to Matching

This happens after completing the application and screening process. During the screening process Joe will ask you to send a few pictures of yourself that you would like your profile to be associated with, or pictures that describe you as a person.  After choosing your pictures you will also send Joe some little facts about you, things along the lines of what you do for work, how long you and your partner have been in a relationship for (if you have a partner), and what you like to do outside of work or for hobbies. Your profile will be made based
