Medical & Psych Clearance

The medical and psych clearance was smooth; the psych clearance came first to make sure I was fit for the role and to ensure I was able to give the IP’s child to them, making sure I understood everything about the process and speak to them about either my concerns or future concerns I may have. We also had a psych meeting with the IPs, including my partner, to ensure we were all on the same page and to determine if we had any concerns for the journey ahead. The psychologist asked great questions that the IPs and I might

Match at First Sight

This was the most highly anticipated part for me; meeting with a potential match was nerve-wracking. It’s almost like a job application: pick me, pick me! I couldn’t wait to find out who I would be carrying for and hear their story. I didn’t know how the process worked when applying to become a surrogate. Joe made it easy for me to understand how it would work and that I would need to be patient as it could take some time for paperwork to be reviewed and the application to go through to ensure I fit the criteria to proceed. Getting Started with NYSC

What a great year we are having! I want to start off by saying that I was extremely nervous to start off becoming a surrogate. I met Joe and his staff when I first submitted my application. They have been so nice to me and helped me get all the documents that were needed and helped me through the checklist. The Zoom call with Joe made me feel at ease and he let me know that the fun part was about to begin with me getting matched with a family. I made the right choice of joining NYSC because they

The Delivery & Post-Birth Process

For me, December 10, 2024, will forever be a date filled with magic. The experience was something I’m so grateful for and I will cherish those magical moments for the rest of my life, as we introduced a precious new life into this world. As life goes, we had to contend with a few complications, including gestational diabetes. As a result, the doctors decided we needed to induce labor and December 10 was the date it was to happen. The day we found this out, I spent about an hour on the phone with the intended mother, where we both
