Pregnancy- Month 3

We have officially graduated from our weekly visits with CNY. It's pretty bittersweet to be this far. Once I got to 12 weeks, I was able to stop the daily PIO shots. This could call for an entire celebration alone lol. You get used to the daily shots, but let me tell you... when you are done, YOU are over the moon with joy! We are 13 weeks now and I am seeing my regular OB. My first visit was just to confirm the pregnancy and both parents joined for my 12-week appointment. We thought we would be seeing the

Are you Considering Surrogacy?

Hey there! So are you considering surrogacy? Maybe you have decided to pursue surrogacy but you have no idea what comes next for you. Do not fear, you have made a beautiful decision that is about to embark you on a miraculous journey. I am here to share with you my journey so you can have some personal knowledge and hopefully, it will give you peace of mind and a bit of excitement as you start your own. I was first connected with a surrogacy advocacy group called Surrogacy Is. The advocates in this group were amazing at assisting me

Congrats on Deciding to Become a Surrogate but Now What?

Wow, first of all lets take a moment to celebrate the decision to become a surrogate! This is such a big thing and a point to start celebrating yourself.  So first things first, you’ve now made the choice and hopefully all of your research has landed you to a great agency so you can get started. So I’m going to take you along the beginning process I went through with New York Surrogacy Agency.  First I had set up a time to speak with Joe who is the main point of contact for surrogates so that I could ask questions

Matching 🖤

I can't find any other word but "giddy" to describe how I felt when I received the first draft of my surrogate profile.  It was all becoming so real!!  The profile was created using my answers from my initial application to NYSC and contained a photo, basic demographics, my hobbies/interests, a medical history overview, the cost of my monthly (surrogacy friendly!) health insurance premium, a brief social history, surrogacy terms such as transfer attempts and feelings on termination/reduction, and blurbs on why I want to be a surrogate and how I'd describe my ideal Intended Parent(s).  It was really important to

Pregnancy: Month 2

Month 2 took an unexpected turn. We learned at our 7 week ultrasound checkup that there was only one heartbeat. Unfortunately, Baby B didn't make it. As devastated as I was to be going through the emotions of this for the very first time, my heart literally broke for both of the parents. This was a loss that my IPs had become far too accustomed to and not at all what I wanted them to experience during our journey together. In a sense, I felt like I had failed them. It shifted my perspective a great deal and made me

The Matching Process

Have you ever had it set in your mind what your perfect match would be like? Well as I was gearing up for journey number 2, I had a lot of boxes to check off of my list for this match. I thought the biggest box on my list was to only match with a same-sex couple. I remember when it came time to view profiles I told Joe, only same-sex. Well, I’m a firm believer that everything happens for a reason and with that being said, the same-sex just wasn’t the one this time. So, after much talking, I

Pregnancy: Month 8

Well month 8 has been interesting to say the least! The intended fathers and I had a “maternity” photoshoot, and when I posted some of those photos on TikTok, it went viral. Then it got picked up on other social media platforms and let’s just say that a lot of people don’t understand what surrogacy is. However, overall, the reception was overwhelmingly positive! With just a couple weeks left before I deliver, baby girl is putting a lot of pressure on my pelvis. Most days I’m fairly uncomfortable, although a support band does help a bit. Sleep can be hard

The Surrogacy Screening/Application Process

For me, this Journey began when an ad popped up on my Facebook page labeled “become a surrogate today, which was the first step in working with NYSC! I have known people within my circle who have become surrogates and decided to take the quiz. Not long after I was contacted via phone by a company that manages to get your profile out to prospective companies like New York Surrogacy Center. Soon after, I had multiple offers from several companies. After having a conversation with my spouse, we decided New York Surrogacy Center was the best match for us. New

Matching Process Turning out so Much Better Than Expected!

The matching phase started with a zoom call with Joe. I was so nervous; we had talked on the phone before but this time felt more official; it would be the beginning of really starting surrogacy! The call was very nice and laid back. Joe has a unique ability to make everyone feel natural and comfortable. We went over what to expect from here, what expenses I would have to travel (i.e. child care and wage reimbursements), and what I did and didn’t want in IPs. My list wasn’t very long. I just wanted to be matched with someone who

Pre-Screening Process and Decision to Help

“So, for me, this Journey began before the screening and application phase, which is the first step in working with NYSC! I have known people throughout my life who struggled with fertility seeing how heartbreaking it was I decided while still in my teens that I would help if given the chance. Then after my husband and I had our 2 amazing kids, I brought up the idea to my husband of becoming a surrogate. He always knew it was something I considered, but he said he never really expected that I would actually go after it. He was NOT
